Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer cake tastings?
After an initial consultation, we can prepare a custom-tailored sample for you to pick up and take home.
When do you take appointments?
Consultations are by appointment only, scheduled Tuesday through Fridays during business hours.
How long does a consultation take, and is there a fee?
Consultations typically take 20 to 30 minutes. There is no fee for the consultation, however, if you are unable to keep your appointment, please call ahead and we will be happy to reschedule you.
Do you schedule appointments on Saturdays?
Almost all of our wedding cakes are for Saturday delivery. Our high standards require our undivided attention to quality and detail, especially when we are applying the finishing touches to the cakes as they are being prepared for transportation. To ensure our 100% success rate on wedding cake deliveries, we do not schedule appointments on Saturdays when we have existing wedding cake contracts. If you already have a contract with us, and absolutely must meet on a Saturday, we will do our best to accommodate your schedule. We appreciate your understanding, and hope that we can offer the same level of commitment to you.
Can I consult you over the phone or by e-mail?
Absolutely. Most of our clients who are from out-of-town correspond with us via e-mail and over the phone. If you have a picture of a cake idea, please feel free to forward it to us and we will be happy to give you an estimate. Also, please include 1) Date of the wedding 2) Location of the reception 3) Number of guests.
How do you price your cakes (by the slice, by tier, whole)?
In most cases, our cakes are priced by the slice.
Does the price include the top-tier of the cake?
We offer a complimentary one-year anniversary cake made fresh, so you can serve the entire cake at your wedding.
Can we mix and match flavors for cake tiers, and is there an additional charge?
We can certainly make each cake tier to be composed of different flavors. There is no additional charge for this, however, be prepared to order more slices for those guests who may want one of each.
Do you have a portfolio of cakes you have done in the past?
Yes. Some of the cakes from our portfolio are featured in the slide show, however, for a complete viewing, please call to schedule a consultation. Our complete portfolio is available for viewing by appointment only.
Do you make tiered wedding cakes (cakes separated by columns)?
Most of the cakes we do today are stacked, however, for an additional charge, we will gladly build a tiered cake.
Can we order a smaller ceremonial cake (to cut) and have a sheet cake to supplement?
Yes. In addition to being more cost effective, this option will enable your caterer to serve your guests quicker.
Do you do custom designed cakes, or work with pre-designed styles?
You can select a design from our portfolio, or we can work with you to design a cake to your specifications.
Do you use any preservatives or shortening in your cakes?
We only use all natural ingredients in all of our breads, pastries, and cakes. We do not use preservatives, shortenings, or trans-fats in any of our baking.
Can you garnish our cake with fresh flowers?
If you order your cake flowers through your florist, we will be happy to put them on your cake.
